The Private Bride
They say Chelsea Clinton wants privacy. That is understandable. Then why, (no criticism intended) was she having a pedicure in a public salon? If you are a private bride, consider having a manicure, pedicure or facial at home! It will cost a little more, but you will have your privacy and will be able to relax! Wedding Planners
Wedding Planners can make planning your wedding easy and stress-free (or less stessful), or not. When looking for a Wedding Planner, be sure to research the Planner/Company thoroughly. Ask a lot of questions:
* How many weddings have you planned?
* What is your training/background?
* How many cell phones do you have? (Believe it or not, there are wedding planners not reachable by phone)!
* Can I speak with two or three of your Brides (for references)?
Most importantly, make sure you are both clear what services the planner with be providing and what all the fees total. It goes without saying, follow your gut, and hire someone you like! Your wedding planner should be your best friend on the day of your wedding. And for help with your head-set, Bridal Coaching is available for you!

Thank You Notes
For all you Brides, write your thank you's as soon as possible -- even the same day you received your gift. And keep a record of the gift by date, giver, and thank you written! This will start you out on good footing for a married life of showing gratitude and appreciation!

Formal Attire
Formal attire means long dresses for the women and tuxes for the men. Most of all, remember, you are not the Bride -- it is her day -- so dress in good taste, and not in white!

NBC changes rules to allow gay `Today' wedding

After a meeting with gay and lesbian activists on Thursday, NBC's "Today" show said it is changing the rules for its annual wedding contest to allow same-sex couples to apply for a ceremony conducted on morning TV.
NBC extended the deadline for applications until Monday. Already thousands of couples have expressed interest in the on-air wedding, which the top-rated morning show has sponsored for a decade, a spokeswoman said.
"We're thrilled that `Today' show's `Modern Wedding Contest' now recognizes what most fair-minded Americans have already concluded — a wedding celebrates love and commitment, whether the spouses are straight or gay," said Jarrett Barrios, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
Viewers plan every aspect of the wedding, from the cake to the clothing styles of attendants. NBC picks four couples from thousands of applicants, and viewers vote on which of those couples will participate.
