What Not to Do at Your Wedding!

Marital Bliss Ends At Reception
Police Arrest Agitated Bride
August 19, 2003|By DAN UHLINGER; Courant Staff WriterSOUTH WINDSOR -- — If Adrienne Samen ever forgets the details of her wedding reception, the police will be able to provide her with an official account, including a photograph.

The 18-year-old North Haven woman was arrested Saturday night after police said she ``flipped out'' at the Mill on the River Restaurant, cursed workers who asked some of her guests to leave the bar and then stormed out of the establishment.

According to Helmar Wolf, a co-owner of the restaurant, the bride and groom began to argue in the parking lot, where the bride shouted, ``I hate you!'' Soon after, Wolf said, the angry young woman ``started throwing wedding cake and smashed vases of flowers.''

Headpieces -- Money-Saving Tip

Look before you buy. I just saw a woman in the street wearing what appeared to be a Bridal Headpiece. It was two bands of "silver" with "diamonds" (rhinestones). It was the type o headpiece you often see in Bridal Magazines now. I complimented her on it and asked where she got it She was pleased to hear it looked nice and told me she bought it at her local drugstore for three to four dollars! With her hair done up and a veil on, it would have looked like an expensive headpiece purchased at a Bridal Salon! Happy hunting!

The Selfless Bride

I didn't think it was possible, but I just spoke to a Selfless Bride. This woman just finished law school, passed the bar, is working for a firm where she still sometimes has to answer the phone, is planning her wedding, and,on top of all that, gave up cleaning help to save money for her wedding. For those of you who are saying, "What's the big deal, I never had cleaning help," it is a big deal. When you have to work and study and then spend your weekends cleaning --it is a big deal. It can be stressful and tiring, although to some, cleaning is relaxing and theraputic. But whatever your attitude and belief system, kudos to this Bride who's investing elbow grease so her she can have her dream wedding!
